World Toilet Expo & Forum series successfully inaugurated

The first WTE&F took off successfully in Shanghai in May 2005. The three-day event with the theme ‘Gracious Living for a Model City’ was organised by WTO and the Shanghai City Appearance and Environmental Sanitation Administrative Bureau (SCAESAB).

The event received the strong support from the industry, underscoring the strong interest in improving toilet infrastructures and other toilet issues in China and around the world.

The Expo was a quality showcase, focusing on the latest technology, products, innovations and solutions. It attracted some 30 international brands and local manufacturers, and over 1,000 visitors from 18 countries.

What they say at the 2005 event

The Expo proved to be targeted and well organised and it exceeded our expectations. The visitors who attended our booth expressed a tremendous interest in the portable sanitation industry and the related products.

Sylvia Cassarà, Marketing Director, Sebach Group of Companies

The environment and places like toilets play a significant role in the transmission of infectious diseases. There should be more of such platforms like the World Toilet Expo & Forum to educate the general public as well as raise hygiene standards in toilets.

Mr John Gordon, Marketing Manager (Asia), Rentokil Initial

We were glad that we took part in the expo as the participants were leading industry names. The media coverage was above average. The contacts we made ranged from distributors to agents and potential customers. We couldn't ask for a better event to showcase on products.

Mr Joseph Lalicata, President, Jeckida®

We are pleased to have a much needed venue to showcase American Standard's water-saving technologies. Water conservation is essential to the viability of our planet, and the WTO plays an integral role in this regard.

Richard Ward, Vice President and General Manager, Bath & Kitchen, Asia Pacific
